All crossovers in expensive models of the AVinci
series are a minimalist designs with a very low loss of details. Flat
Oxygen-Free copper wire is used from input connectors to the crossover and from
the crossover to the units. The exception is the connections to the heavy foil
coil. Our coils are custom made with long wires of foil in both ends. The foil
coil is soldered directly to the connector and to the unit - that will give the
best possible connection !
The coils are a big and heavy air foil coils. The copper is covered by film and
therefore protected against oxygen. The big value of the coil ensures to make
bass baffle compensation.
We know, with rising frequency the electrons will reach for the surface. This
phenomenon are known as power distortion. This is why we need as large a
surface, as we can get, so the electrons do not, said in a popular way, get
squeezed on their way. The result is better micro dynamic, better resolution,
less distortion. The coil has a low DC resistance too, which gives the crossover
to lowest possible power loss. Exotic audiophile coils in this long-life quality
are not available in USA - only foil coils without any film are available there.
The disadvantage of foil inductors is the price.
The capacitors are audiophile MCAP from Mundorf - one of the fastest capacitors
of the quality MKP types. The resistor is an "induction-free"
metal oxide resistor.
