The woofer has been specially designed for Acoustic Reality by Scan-Speak  (having your offices next door to  Scan-Speak has its advantages!). The woofer has been optimized for both midrange and deep bass in the REALITY 3D cabinet. This unit is named Scan Speak REALITY. It has a die-cast aluminum chassis and an oversized powerful double REVELATOR magnet (air-cooled) with patented SD-1 system (Symmetric Drive) that reduces driving current rise time and increases the magnetic field while diminishing distortion. That provides excellent power handling and allows clean sound with deep bass, fast impulse response, and extremely fine micro-dynamic. The 1" true High-End hand-coated silk dome (Scan-Speak 2905/9700) is improved by the addition of the patented SD-2 system (impedance and cooling control), the LCD (low compression design), and the NRC (non-resonant chamber) systems. The tweeter is free of oil and provides brilliant details, which is not possible to be reproduced by tweeters using ferro oil. An anti-diffraction ring of soft rubber has been developed especially for the REALITY 3D tweeter to open for details both on and off axis. The tweeter has a high dynamic range and is totally free from compression (NOT a single touch of horn sound). Many people think this is one of the best dome tweeters in the world.
